This Is My Story

Who I am
For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Katie! I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and love what I do. I’ve worked in just about all the jobs and have finally found one that I feel is right for me.
I have been wanting to start a blog for some time now, but my head has been full of the reasons not to. But I like to write and I’ve got some things to say. So here we are.
I am a lover of all things active and healthy. But don’t get me wrong, I am also a connoisseur of beer, wine, chocolate, donuts, and French fries. I am a running and fitness enthusiast. And, most importantly, I am a Bravo junkie.
I accidentally went for a long bike ride one day. I got caught up in the moment, in the fresh air, and in my head. As I was riding along, I was thinking about how to get my ideas out in the world in a way that was authentically and genuinely mine. So I started to think about the things I believe in and value most.
I believe in living life. I believe in enjoying foods that you eat and the activity that you do. I believe in honoring your body. I believe in bettering your mind. I believe in learning. I believe in growing. I believe in making valuable connections. I believe in being nourished in all aspects of life: mind, body, and soul. And in those beliefs, the mission of Gallagher Nutrition was born.
Where I’ve Been
I have written for other blogs for the last few years, discussing topics like the latest diet trends, nutrition basics, and other principles of health and fitness. While I have thoroughly enjoyed those projects, the biggest struggle has been not being able to add my own voice to pieces. I couldn’t add my own flare because it was always someone else’s brand.
So what’s the solution? Do it on my own. Add my own voice. Be authentic.
Health and wellness are my passion. I believe that this looks different for everyone. I want to encourage people to stop doing things they hate in the name of wellness. Who wants to follow a high-fat, zero carb diet? Not me. Who wants to ride a stationary bike going nowhere? Not me. Who wants to drink celery juice? Definitely not me.
Eating healthy doesn’t have to be boring and movement doesn’t have to be something you loathe.
Where I’m Going
I hope to bring my passion to this blog. This space will be an outlet for me to share my knowledge in nutrition and in a way that makes most sense for your life. I hope that by sharing my journey, I can help you find your nutrition and fitness fit.
This will be a space to share information, work with clients to better their relationships with health and movement, and improve understanding of basic nutrition so that you may empower your food choices. My goal is to connect with like-minded people and for you to get to know me. For you to hear my voice.
I want you to nourish your mind, nourish your body, and nourish your soul.
